Benito Menni Complejo Asistencial en Salud Mental (Benito Menni CASM) is a group of medical centres belonging to the organization, Hermanas Hospitalarias del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús, and is also funded by the public health service of the regional government of Catalonia.
Leaders in the implementation of new techniques and care resources, and with high quality staff and facilities, we offer a comprehensive treatment and social care to all people with mental illness.
Our service encompasses in-patient medical and community care, emphasising both users and their immediate social environment. Our hospital and out-patient services cover three geographical areas, Sant Boi de Llobregat, Granollers, and Hospitalet de Llobregat, serving more than 16,000 people a year.
Currently the complex has a large hospital in Sant Boi, 3 adult mental health centres, 4 day hospitals, 2 day centres, plus multidisciplinary teams for cognitive assessment, drug addiction and consultation-liaison psychiatry. There are also specialized in-patient units for dual-diagnosis patients and adolescents.
As a centre of excellence, our institutional commitment is to patients and society in general, and focuses on health and social care as well as teaching and research.
In the coming years Benito Menni CASM will face new health and organizational challenges. These have been incorporated into our strategic plan, and include but are not limited to the opening of a new psychiatric ‘polyclinic’ in Hospitalet. Focusing always on excellence, we will continue to offer high quality medical and humane care, never forgetting that patients, their families, their environment and their place in society as a whole is central to all that we do.
